Annual Governance & Accountability Return (AGAR) 2025–26
Under the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, every local government elector has the right to inspect the Parish Council’s accounting records for the financial year ending 31 March 2026.
Inspection Period
The statutory inspection window runs from:
Monday 17 June 2026
to
Monday 28 July 2026 (inclusive)
28 July 2026 is the final date on which inspection rights may be exercised.
Your Rights During the Inspection Window
Residents may:
• Inspect the accounting records, including all books, receipts, invoices, contracts and supporting documents.
• Request copies of any documents (a reasonable charge may apply).
• Ask the external auditor questions about the accounts.
• Raise a formal objection with the auditor if they believe there is unlawful expenditure or a matter of public interest.
These rights apply to all registered electors within the Parish.
Where to View the Documents
The following documents are available on the Parish Council’s website:
• Unaudited AGAR 2025–26
• Notice of Public Rights
• Previous years’ financial statements

Why This Matters
The Public Inspection period is the only time each year when residents can formally examine the Parish Council’s accounts and, if necessary, raise questions or concerns directly with the external auditor. It is a key safeguard for transparency, accountability, and good governance.
